Asian Humanities 2019 Overview
Part I
In the year 2019, I've read a small number of books due to my motivation for reading. But genres I enjoy reading are mystery, drama and non-fiction novels.
Fitzgerald, Scott F. The Great Gatsby. New York, Scribner, 2004.

- I read this book for my senior year because it was assign and was the novel for the semester to read. We only read little important bits of the novel due to the amount of time we had left. Overall I enjoy reading The Great Gatsby, reveals the American dream love and tragedy through wealth and one particular person perspective.
Part 2
The theme of the project I worked on with my fellow classmates was "what does it mean to be human?." I would say that the theme is broad and open mainly it's universal on how you interpret it. One thing I truly enjoy working on the project was looking up different videos and outside resources to develop in the slides. For the project, I spent roughly between 1-2hours a day on revising or adding little bits to make the content much satisfying.
Part 3
When I first showed up to class I was anxious to find out what my first class of college would be like. I was nervous since I was a last-minute signup and showed up on the second day. My goal at first was mainly to pass and survive the class but looking throughout the semester, I just want to learn more about the past and how it shaped some of these countries to expand and spread ideas. My expectation for the class was more leaning towards China's and Japan's development as of history, technology, and politics but we focused on prehistory and ancient India, China and a little bit of Japan. And I can't say I completed my goal since I have this Blog entry #8 and reflection of my learning.

The thing that was most interesting in the class was the class videos and sometimes video discussion for homework. The interesting thing I learned from this semester was Buddhism because I didn't realize certain daily item that I pass by Asian markets were related to Buddhism. My parent are Buddhist and I never knew there was two tradition of Buddhism, which are Theravada and Mahayana. One thing I knew before coming into class was the different type of religion in Asia, such as Buddhism and Hinduism. But didn't know too much about the Silk Road, just I know it was an important trade route. But overall I had an amazing experience being in this class with Profesor Moore and my classmates, always having the exciting energy to learn.
